Balance Glossary
- Closing Ledger — The ledger balance as of the end of the business day (As-of-Date) for which the activity is being reported. Opening Ledger + Total Credits - Total Debits = Closing Ledger Balance.
- Closing Available — The available balance at the end of the business day for which activity is being reported. Closing Ledger - Float = Closing Available.
- 1 Day Float — The portion of the commercial account ledger balance that is not available for the account holder to draw for one business day.
- 2+ Day Float — The portion of the commercial account ledger balance that is not available for the account holder to draw against for the two or more days.
- Total Credits — The sum of all credits posted to the ledger balance of an account.
- Total Debits — The sum of all debits posted to the ledger balance of an account.
- Opening Available — The available balance at the start of the business day following the day for which activity is reported. Closing Available Balance Reported + The Net of One-day Float = Opening Available Balance. For example, Wednesday's "Opening Available Balance" is the result of Tuesday's "Closing Available Balance" ± The Net of One-Day Float.
